  2. USER'S GUIDE

  5. This folder contains clip art in three categories which can be 
  6. used in a variety of programs. If your application is not listed, 
  7. please refer to your program's manual for compatibility. 
  8.  
  9. EPS ART 
  10. ------- 
  11. EPS (Encapsulated PostScript): These illustrations can be opened 
  12. and manipulated in draw programs (such as Illustrator, FreeHand, 
  13. and Canvas).  Or, they can be placed as-is in page layout 
  14. programs (such as QuarkXPress, PageMaker, and Ready, Set, Go!). 
  15. EPS images can also be opened in Adobe Photoshop, but they will 
  16. be converted to bitmap form. Their filenames end in ".EPS." 
  17.  
  18. TIFF ART 
  19. -------- 
  20. TIFF (Tagged Image File Format): These illustrations can be 
  21. opened and manipulated in image editing programs (such as 
  22. Photoshop). They can also be placed as-is in page layout programs 
  23. (such as QuarkXPress, PageMaker, and Ready, Set, Go!) and in some 
  24. draw programs (such as Illustrator, FreeHand, and Canvas). Their 
  25. filenames end in ".TIF."

  27. 3-D ART 
  28. ----------- 
  29. Each 3-D image is saved in three formats: 
  30.  
  31. * RAY DREAM DESIGNER, VERSION 3: These 3-D images are saved with 
  32. colors and texture maps, but without lights and camera settings. 
  33. They can be opened in Ray Dream Designer, version 3 or 4, where 
  34. you can manipulate them in 3-D space, adjust objects, apply 
  35. colors and texture maps, create camera settings or perform other 
  36. operations. Their filenames end in ".RD3." 
  37.  
  38. * DXF: These 3-D images are saved without colors and texture 
  39. maps. They can be opened in any compatible 3-D program, where you 
  40. can scale them, apply colors and texture maps, create camera 
  41. settings, or perform other operations. PLEASE NOTE: Files saved 
  42. in DXF format may not match the thumbnails in your printed index, 
  43. as texture maps and coloring may change in the DXF 
  44. interpretation. Also note that DXF creates files with very large 
  45. file sizes, so your computer must have sufficient RAM to open 
  46. them.  Their filenames end in ".DXF." 
  47.  
  48. * TIFF: These images were rendered at a resolution of 266 dpi in 
  49. Ray Dream Designer, then converted to CMYK color mode in Adobe 
  50. Photoshop. They are 5 inches at their largest dimension. These 
  51. illustrations can be opened and manipulated in image editing 
  52. programs (such as Photoshop). They can also be placed as-is in 
  53. page layout programs (such as QuarkXPress, PageMaker, and Ready, 
  54. Set, Go!) and in some draw programs (such as Illustrator, 
  55. FreeHand, and Canvas). Their filenames end in ".TIF."
